Editorial Policy

This Editorial Policy explains how TamilGlitz selects, researches, writes, reviews, labels and updates entertainment content. It is intended to help readers understand the standards behind our news reports, explainers, profiles, polls, reviews and opinion articles.

Editorial Purpose

Our purpose is to publish useful and engaging coverage of Tamil cinema, television, streaming, celebrities, reality shows and related popular culture. We aim to distinguish confirmed information from speculation and independent opinion.

Accuracy and Verification

  • Names, dates, show titles, episode details and quoted statements should be checked before publication.
  • Breaking stories may be updated when additional information becomes available.
  • A single anonymous post, edited clip or unverified screenshot should not be treated as conclusive evidence.
  • When reliable sources disagree, the article should describe the uncertainty rather than select a claim without explanation.
  • Predictions, fan theories and unofficial voting trends must be labelled as such.

Sources

Preferred sources include official broadcaster announcements, production companies, verified public accounts, direct interviews, press releases, programme footage, government or court records where relevant, and reputable original reporting.

Secondary reporting may be used when it adds context or when the original source is unavailable. Material information obtained from another publication should be attributed and linked where practical.

Rumours, Leaks and Unconfirmed Reports

Entertainment reporting frequently involves casting rumours, alleged leaks, speculative release dates and anonymous claims. TamilGlitz should not present such information as confirmed.

  • Use terms such as “reportedly,” “according to,” “unconfirmed” or “rumoured” only when the underlying source is identified.
  • Explain what is known, what remains uncertain and what would confirm the claim.
  • Update or remove outdated speculation when authoritative information becomes available.
  • Avoid publishing private information merely because it is circulating online.

Headlines and Thumbnails

Headlines and featured images should accurately represent the article. They should not create a false impression, invent a result, imply a death, arrest, breakup, elimination or confirmation that the body of the article does not support.

SEO optimisation must not override factual accuracy. Keywords may be used naturally, but repetitive, misleading or deceptive wording should be avoided.

Reviews, Opinions and Predictions

Reviews, commentary, rankings, predictions and fan polls involve judgement. These formats should be labelled clearly so readers do not confuse an author’s assessment with verified news or an official result.

A critical review may discuss a public work or performance, but it should avoid harassment, discriminatory abuse or irrelevant attacks on personal characteristics.

Reality-Show Voting Coverage

TamilGlitz may publish nomination lists, voting guides, fan polls and elimination reports. Official results should be based on the broadcaster, streaming platform or episode announcement.

  • Unofficial poll totals must be described as visitor opinion, not official voting data.
  • Placeholder percentages must never remain published without a visible label.
  • Voting instructions should be reviewed whenever the platform or rules change.
  • Missed-call numbers, vote limits and deadlines should not be copied from an older season without verification.
  • Eliminations, walkouts, medical exits and ejections should be identified accurately.

Images, Video and Social Media

Images, screenshots, embeds and social-media posts should be used with appropriate context and attribution. Content that has been deleted, manipulated or published by an impersonation account should not be relied upon without further verification.

Where an image is provided by a studio, broadcaster, artist, agency or photographer, the relevant credit should be retained when known.

Conflicts of Interest

Writers and editors should disclose financial, personal or professional relationships that could materially affect coverage. Sponsored content, paid placements, gifted access and affiliate relationships must be disclosed clearly.

Sensitive Topics and Privacy

Coverage involving health, death, minors, alleged crime, private relationships or personal distress requires additional care. Public curiosity alone does not justify publishing unnecessary private details.

Allegations should be attributed, responses should be included when reasonably available, and legal findings should not be implied before they exist.

Updates and Corrections

Articles may be updated to add new facts, improve context, replace outdated information or correct errors. Significant corrections should be acknowledged when the original wording could have materially misled readers.

Editorial Independence

Advertising and commercial partnerships should not determine the conclusion of an independent editorial article. Advertisers may sponsor clearly labelled material, but they do not receive an undisclosed right to rewrite unrelated news coverage.
