What Qualifies as a Correction?
- An incorrect name, date, age, title, result, number or quotation
- A misleading headline or caption
- A contestant incorrectly described as nominated, eliminated or safe
- A rumour presented as confirmation
- An image identifying the wrong person
- A material omission that changes the meaning of the report
- An outdated voting method or deadline presented as current
Correction, Clarification and Update
| Change Type | When It Is Used | Typical Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Correction | Published information was materially wrong | The information is fixed and a correction note may be added |
| Clarification | The wording was technically accurate but could mislead | Context is added or wording is made clearer |
| Update | New information became available after publication | The article is expanded and the update time may be changed |
| Minor edit | Spelling, punctuation, formatting or style issue | Corrected without a formal notice unless meaning changed |
| Removal | Content creates a valid legal, privacy, safety or copyright concern | The material may be removed or restricted after review |
How to Request a Correction
- Email admin@tamilglitz.com.
- Use the subject line “Correction Request – [Article Title].”
- Include the exact article URL.
- Quote or describe the disputed passage.
- Explain why it is inaccurate or misleading.
- Provide a reliable source, document or other supporting evidence.
- State your relationship to the subject, if relevant.
How Requests Are Reviewed
We compare the request with the article’s sources, available primary evidence and any later authoritative update. We may contact the requester or another relevant party for clarification.
A request will not automatically result in removal merely because a subject dislikes accurate reporting, criticism or clearly labelled opinion.
Correction Notes
A visible correction note may be added when the original error was significant, widely shared or likely to have affected a reader’s understanding. The note may explain what changed and when.
Archived and Syndicated Content
Corrections to copied, cached, syndicated or third-party versions may not appear immediately. TamilGlitz can directly update only the versions under its control.
Appeals
If you believe a correction request was misunderstood, reply with additional evidence and clearly explain the remaining issue. Repetitive or abusive messages may be closed without further review.
